I have a donut peach tree which is extruding a jelly like substance at the base of the trunk.
Can anyone advise what this is and what I should do about it ?
Thanks,
Roy (Heathcote, NSW)

I suggest you eat up that bunch of jelly (I'm not kidding you, it's edible), then apply lime to the trunk.

Thanks Marmot1,
Never thought about eating the jelly - I thought it might mean there was a borer and the tree was trying to protect itself. I cleaned the jelly away but could not see any sign of a borer.
Do I dilute the lime with water of just put it on in the powder form ?
