I would like to grow Macadamia, cherry, madarin, peach, mango,or appricot for example .Are theses okay ? what else can I grow? I have a spot that is about 5mt X 3mt and gets lunch to afternoon sun. Hi Kris,
I lived in Canberra for a few years and grew fruit trees. Firstly, none of the tropical fruits will grow there because of the frosts. Peaches, Nectarines, Cherries, Apricots, Pears, Plums and Apples will all grow quite ok. Citrus could be touch and go and you will need a protected spot for them. I have dwarf citrus where I am now and they cope with frost down to -5C. You can get the whole range of Citrus tress as dwarfs. For the other trees try WoodBridge Fruit Tress as a starting point.

Hi Kris
I too lived in canberra and agree with Greg. Strawberries and Loquats do well as do figs. A hardy type of Passionfruit will grow against a sunny house wall. Canberra has very poor soil so you may consider getting soil in or improving it yourself. Use lots of mulch for those hot dry summers.

Hi, I am in Canberra too. I am interested in which dwarf orange tree you would recommend. I have a warm spot near my roses and would be kept warm by radiant heat from my water heater and the brick wall at the back of the rose bushes.
