I would really love to have pears growing in my garden, but size/space is an issue. Does anyone know if there are any Dwarf Pear Trees that will grow well in the Brisbane area? If so, where can you find them?

Hood and flordahome ate the subtropical types.
Birdwood nsy can supply them to retail stores for you.

Like Jan, I am also looking at planting pears in Brisbane, but with the chill factor of the Flordahome and the Hood varieties being at 350 suggested by Daleys, I wonder if Brisbane has enough chill hours to grow these two varieties successfully.
I wonder if anyone else in Brisbane has grown these pears successfully.

The Botanic Gardens had a big hood pear I believe. Lots of fruit. Had a tropical nashi next to it. Lots of upside down fruit. Both were removed recently. Not sure why.
