Epsom salts (forum)

While it is raining so much and I have some citrus with unripe fruit, I thought it might be a good time to give them a small dose of espsom salts along with their sulphate of potash.
Should I give it to any other plants? (Is it safe / useful for fruiting plants in general?).
Thanks,
Diana.

Hi Diana,
Yeah, a small dose shouldn't hurt. I'd give it some gypsum as well.
After looking at your fruit trees, I'd move the mulch away from the trunks, 150 to 200mm, that will help to stop collar-rot. I use those plastic rings from bunnings. (see photo on anthracnose avocados in this forum).

Thanks, Brendan.
Yes, they started out with a 10cm radius of bare dirt, but the mulch tends to wash closer when it rains. I have not had any collar rot so far though.
The lovely weeks of showers and storms every day are apparently at an end this week in Brisbane :(
Diana.
