Hi little cat,
Liquid fertilizer seems to be the best for pots, Seasol, Powerfeed, Charlie Carp etc., just follow directions on pack.

Try giving your papaya some Dolomite, (& the liquid fert too), just one to two tablespoons, and water in.

Hi little cat,
Home made garlic spray is good.
Chop up 90g garlic & mix it with 2 t-spoons of liquid paraffin.(from chemist).
Let it soak for 48 hrs.
Add 1 litre of water.
Strain and store.
Use 1 part garlic mix to 4 parts water.
If it doesn't stick to the leaves, add a good wetting agent.
Can add some hot birds-eye chillies if you want :-)
BTW, have a look at the July/August issue of ABC Organic Gardener magazine, Jerry Coleby-Williams has heaps of pest control recipes :-)
