I'm looking at buying a food dehydrator for drying excess fruit and veg. Anyone recommend a good brand/model?

I'm with trikus - Ezidri. Had a cheaper one that caught fire and also a square shaped e-bay one that broke down after 2 uses...

I have a Nara, which is great, but I'm not sure they make them any more.

I have an Excaliber which is rather expensive but does a fantastic job. You can set the temperature as you wish and it has a timer. I find it dries far more evenly than the circular dryer I had before and you can take trays out without disturbing the rest.

Thanks for feedback. I've ended up going for larger Ezidri. Decent sized, and can be extended. (Some work colleagues recommended it too.) Ivepeters, I found the Aldi model too small. Julie, I couldn't find Nara. Jantina, I did like the Excaliber, good features, but too pricey for me even on ebay. Thanks for steering me clear of cheaper models Amanda - they sound potentially dangerous!
