...and effectively initiated the cancellation out the NBN rollout, have a gander here and have a play with the speed simulations, which describe the difference between what you could have got, and what you're going to get now.

They wouldn't want people empowering themselves over the internet while they roll out the dumbing down of their consumer nation. It's so transparent it sickens me! We'll be like America soon, canibalising ourselves while the goods importers and mining and media moguls controlling the government get richer. They are stigmatizing anything outside of their core vision and rewriting almost all parts of history to suit themselves and now call industry investment 'handouts' to engage the foot soldiers of the emergent working poor. This helps with Abbotts blind desire to land free multilateral trade deals, in which case we won't need any industry and the rich will trade for their cheaper sweatshop goods with a border free world while the compliant, complicit poor will live in pure poverty.

He's flipping the bird to China now too BJ. How much worse can he get diplomatically is the frightening question, my guess is considerably. The damage he has wrought in the space of time he's been in office is pretty amazing. Taking an axe to the ABC now too (I predicted that one, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a move to privatize it, either).

Give the PM a break; he is just doing his job - that is, doing what he's been paid to do. He has a lot of debt you know. Votes, unlike fruit, don't grow on trees.

It is like a slow trainwreck. The level of misrepresentation and keeping the public in the dark has reached fever pitch. Why doesn't one journalist compare welfare budgets of Australia with other western nations, question the undermining of the free press, handouts for the wealthy, insults to SE Asian countries or challenge the rich getting richer ethos? Are we that addicted to misery we have to believe fabrication on the country's financial position, support attacks on science and generally cheer on mean spiritness?

Mike I heard Charlie Pickering stick up for the ABC on channel 10's The Project last night; he's a comedian not a journalist so you can trust him.

Hmmm, as per forum rules, I thought this forum was only about plants/produce? Lighten up, there are better places to voice your political views - blogs and forums designed for political discussion is where you should be debating. This forum is my refuge from the bombardment of political ideology from all sides of the political fence that I cop whenever I watch TV, read a newspaper, listen to the radio.
