Hi all,

I am looking for this plant for cooking (leaves are used in Asian cooking). It is a special variety of cudweed. Do you know where I can buy some please?.

Hi Speedy,

Many thanks in advance. I have been looking for this for a long time. I make special savory steaming cake/dumpling using juices of the leaves mix with sticky rice grains/flour for this recipe. I believe other Asian countries used the leaves too.

You never know they may be grown wild in grass land some where in Australia.

Yes I would love to get seeds or seedlings of this plant too, for exactly the same reason.
Gnaphalium affine is also known as Jersey Cudweed or Cotton Weed.
Jujube, did you know you can substitute Artemisia princeps for it in mochi?

I just looked on the AQIS website and it appears this plant (also known as Gnaphalium multiceps) is a non-permitted species in Oz. :(
Darn it!
Maybe some shops import the dried leaves. That's the only option.

Hi Violet,
Thanks for the hint, It is good to know the alternative way of cooking something.

I normally subtitute with Chopsuy Green, Vegetable Chrysanthemum but it is not the same in term of flavour.
