What is the point of grafting when cuttings seem to grow readily?

Because the rootstock used in grafted mulberries is superior, you get fruit sooner and they crop much better. The common rootstock for the white and red shahtoot mulberries, moras alba is also far more resilient in different soil types. By choosing a grafted Dwarf Mulberry the dwarfing rootstock is brilliant for those with limited space.
