I would love to grow some raspberry canes in pots put am unsure whats needed to successfully grow them and get lots of fruit!
Can anyone give me some tips on where to plant (I have a sunny fence side in the veggie garden where I can put a nice big deep pot), when (is it too late now?), and what to plant them in..
When would they fruit?
Can you put a couple of plants in one pot?
Thanks in advance for your help :-)

They'll either fruit in spring/early summer or autumn depending on the variety. They're pruned differently as well. Spring/summer varieties you have to leave this years new canes to fruit next year. Autumn varieties you cut off just above ground level in winter.
Make sure they don't get too much hot afternoon sun (you do get that in Melbourne don't you??). Don't bother putting more than one in a pot- they spread anyway and in a year or two the pot will be chockers and you'll have to thin them out.
Plant in good quality potting mix. Note you won't get heaps of fruit from raspberries in a pot- to get a lot of fruit you need a couple of metres of rows. You'll get a taste though.
