Hazel wood (forum)

Does the twisted looking wood used in gardening in the UK come from a particular type of hazel? If so which one....or does anyone know of a better tree to use? I want to grow some to use to make a trellis, or an obelisk,or a woven compost bin...
Thanks

Hi Jextro
You need Contorted Hazelnut (Twisted Hazelnut) - Corylus avellana contorta.
I have previously posted a picture of it in the forum topic Hazelnut Trees.

Or you can also use willow which is easier to obtain.
