Help with my sick passionfruit (forum)

Hi all, I recently bought a house in bayside Victoria and it has three passionfruit vines at the back of a planter garden in the courtyard. They all seem a bit sick (yellowed shrivelling new growth and dropping leaves) The middle one seems the worst and had a huge bulk. I suspect they've been planted too close together and it was getting crowded. I recently gave it a trim to remove all the dead vines and leaves but now it just looks awful. Please help I would hate to lose them!

Hi Beth,
There are few hints below hope will help you to solve the problem
1. Passonfruit wine life around 5-7 years
2. The black cv is more cold tolerant than the yellow or red cvs
3. During cold months in winter some leaves turn yellow and drop from June to August in Melb.
4. New branches will start in early October when the weather gets warmer
5. Flowers appears on the new shoots or branches
6. At this stage you need to supply adequate fertiliser and water to have flowers bloom and fruits until April
7. Hand pollination to ensure fruit set otherwise most flowers will drop and no fruits at all
Good luck. Cheers

Thank you David! I’ve put some chicken manure down and given it a good drink. Fingers crossed I see some new growth soon :)
