Is this tree a Pedalai?
I found a tag at the base of it which read Pedalai, this is the first year that this tree has started fruiting.
New leaves are usualy very soft like velvet, older leaves turn red.

I guess it's another artocarpus. Maybe kwai muk or lakoocha or so.

It is not an artocarpus it is a Santol from the Phillipines. Also called Iced Lolly fruit. Very pleasant can be either red or yellow skinned when ripe.
