rosscollestate starts with ...
The inside of the seed is white and hard.
There are 5 segments to the exterior pod & inside are about 36-40 seeds with a thin layer of soft white non irritating silky padding around. The sap is not milky.
The flower has a sweet fragrance.

It's a malabar chestnut. The nuts are edible and are quite good if fried in garlic and peanut oil.
