Identifying Lemon Tree! Meyer or ?? Pics included!! (forum)

Hi yall
I recently bought a nice looking meyer lemon tree from my local bunnings and planted into the ground. I had some people over recently and they had a look at it and said it definately was NOT a meyers because the leaves, plant structure and thickness of the skin of the fruit was incorrect and the plant has a few thorns. Apparently meyers do not. I know its not beyond bunnings to mislabel a plant, but I've checked some meyer pics online, and the young fruit and flowers look very similar to my supposed meyers lemon tree. So I'm here to ask for your help. Six pics included of the plant, flowers and young fruit. Can I get some opinions: do you believe this a Meyers Lemon tree? If not what is it? A Eureka or lisbon?

Best to wait till that fruit ripens. If its a meyers the fruit will be orangey yellow, if not you prolly have something different and can look up "how to identify my lemon" or something on google.
Soory I cant be of more help.

Lisbon is generally a smoother fruit than Eureka, , with more of a prominent furrow next to the nipple of the fruit, deeper on one side. Eureka is also more sparse in foliage with more of an open habit of growth. The spines are present in both cultivars, Lisbon generally being thornier than Eureka. Photo is of Eureka. Also Bunnings may be able to tell you which they normally stocked when you purchased the plant.

So you think the tree is a Eureka based on the pics, phil?

That was listed as a Eureka lemon on Google Images. The Meyer lemon is very smooth indeed, with none of that "cellulite" look to the rind (see the pic below). Hope that helps.

Here's a photo of a Lots-a-Lemons lemon on my tree, they are a Meyer lemon [so I'm told] and this one looks the same as J's to me.
The roughness disappears once the fruit matures, but you could be right Phil. If it turns out to be a Lisbon think of it as being a bonus.
