I have searched high and low to find out what kind of tree this is. The people that live in the house said the tree was there when they moved in. If anyone can give me any guidance I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,
Kelly

To many flowers on it, therefore its not a peach. That leaves you a nectureine/peacherine, most likely: an apricot maybe, but the amount of flowers again the problem: A plum at best a maybe: Now for the dooser, if its a cherry, great, right amout of flowers and all, just that the tree looks like its on its last 5 years or so. good luck

Thanks for the responses. I have contacted the owner of the tree and he is going to give me a cutting. I asked a few nurseries and the replies mainly said it looked like it had a bad graft..I couldn't believe they said that. :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Looks like the ornamental Prunus persica "versicolour", which is in the peach group. Might grow from a hardwood cuuting in winter, or can be ordered from nurseries such as Flemings in Victoria.

I agree with Laura, it is flowering peach versicolor. Characteristic double coloured flowers. You've got a spectacular tree!
