Hey guys, I found some markings on my peach leaves. There are no more fruits on the trees. Is this rust? If so, what can I use to spray the trees? Thanks!

The punched out areas make me think of Shothole but I would not bet the house. If it is shothole I'd only spray if the fruit were affected and I'd try phosphonates or sulphur first before moving on to the nastier stuff.

Thanks John. So Shothole's culprit is a fungus? So is this a rust problem? Cant seem to find much on the net. Peach tree's full of problems this year.
I am thinking of using this bordeaux recipe that I found on ABC Gardening. Has anyone used it before with success? I read that it is not nasty stuff.
Thanks!

au0rey - when my apricot and dwarf peaches got rust it was a fairly even covering of round yellow-orange 1-2mm rough 'spots' on the backs of the leaves.
They actually looked "rusty" (lol!?) not saying yours may not be though. I can google some images...
You haven't sprayed anything on the leaves recently have you? (incl water on a hot day)...?
(shothole is a fungus also) Kocide is a new generation bordeaux and good stuff for fungi... :)

Bordeaux is excellent stuff when you make it fresh at home. But never spray it on peaches in leaf as you'll defoliate the tree.

Hey Amanda thanks! The first picture you posted looks a bit like those on my peach tree. I will check the underneath as well when the rain stops. I found lots of images which showed yellow type of rust on the net.
I havent sprayed anything recently except pyrethrum. My peach tree had carpophilus beetles which cause brown rot in the peaches. Most peaches were thrown out and we only had a few to eat this year, plus sharing with the cute possums. So I sprayed the tree with pyrethrum hoping to help a bit with the beetle problem. It seeems all under control for now.
John, the peach tree is already shedding leaves but not serious. I notice once all the peaches are harvested, the tree start shedding, like last year. I hope this is normal behaviour of peach trees. I will wait till autumn to spray this mixture. Great to know that this is an excellent stuff and yet safe.
