I would like to know if a japanese maple would suit perth climate. I would like to make one into a bonsai

Sull, Japanese maples seem to grow quite well in Perth, but do need regular water and preferably afternoon shade. Don't know whereabouts in Perth you are, but they certainly grow well in the hills.
But if you are going to grow it in a pot, it won't be hard to give it these conditions.

Thanks julie. Im in osborne park, love to be in the hills amongst the trees but i do have a spot with afternoon shade. I was inspired by the picture attached

Don't be too disappointed if your tree doesn't colour up like the picture. Osborne Park is not cold enough to produce those lovely red colours. But it might be quite pretty anyway.
