Hello everyone, I just harvested my first jerusalem artichoke crop today! I'm incredibly impressed with this plant- in just one year, about 10 plants yielded me more than a bucketful of tubers. In addition to this, they were grown in sandy soil along a fenceline with no fertiliser whatsoever and only the occasional watering in summer! Not to mention they made invaluable shade plants in my woodland garden, and the flowers were covered in bees!

Try making soup - it's pretty nice if you use some good stock.

Yes, it's good with potato and bacon, flavoured with thyme and bay leaves in stock. You can then blend it into a creamy soup (optional).
