killing Nellie Kelly (forum)

Bill starts with ...
I have a Nellie Kelly passionfruit the roots of which have invaded my elevated vegie garden. The roots have burrowed under the 600 deep root barrier I installed to keep the neighbours tree roots out. Some roots have come across the top of the root barrier and have the burrowed under the concrete foundations of the garden. The roots are inside the garden as evidenced by the green growth coming up. The roots are about the thickness of my thumb.

The very reason I won't plant N K any more, you just have to keep pulling up the green bits as they grow and that can take years. You could poison it but I wouldn't, rather defeats the purpose of growing your own food.
