Kiwi Fruit - Female has no leaves (forum)

Correy starts with ...
Question: The Kiwi Fruit in Picture 7 and 6 has the male on the right side which has leaves and a female (the one that will give me fruit) on the left side which has no leaves.
I used my fingernails on the female and notice that it is still green and alive but for some reason it has no leaves forming.
Any hints on getting it to take off?

Picture 1: A K7 coffee plant just about to flower it is 2 years old.
Picture 2: A Glen Mango in a pot. It had huge flowers which turned into hundreds of little fruit which mostly dropped off but we still have a few left fingers crossed. This is it's second year.
Picture 4: Shows a red dragon fruit which we took a cutting and put it in this pot only 3 months ago. It has lots of shoots now I am amazed how vigorous it is growing.
Picture 3: More of the pitayas
Picture 5: Another coffee plant in a pot that is flowering. The flowers smell like frangipanis and are very fragrant.

It looks like you have a Haywood kiwi there Correy, it could be that it requires too much chill for you in Brisbane and as a result it has not broken dormancy. You may do better with either an H4 or the Sweetie which is a golden fruited kiwi.

my query is about the new shoots on a very young female vine-- I purchased it last year as I have a very mature male vine and my previous 3 attempts with females all failed. This time I put it in a pot to overwinter before planting out. It has broken dormancy and there are a couple of new very strong shoots coming from the ground.as well as new leaves on the main stem and single branch.. Are these new stems from a rootstock or are they new shoots from the main female vine ?? I bought it from Dayleys and don't know if it's a grafted plant- also don't know whether to be thrilled about these new ground shoots or not??
