Kumquat problems (forum)

Hi everyone,

I have a Kumquat plant in a pot and it is struggling with yellowish, drooping leaves, and it looks to be dying.

I have tried applying Iron and Manganese supplements, and also Maxicorp, but it does not seem to be effective.

Can someone please have a look at the attached photos of my kumquat plant and see what they think ?

Many thanks to all feedback.

You will need much bigger pots.Looking at the sizes of the trunks verses the pot diameter there is a strong possibility that both these plants are root bound, that is the roots are growing round and around which will eventually strangle tree and die.I dont know enough about the virility of citrus if they handle having their roots untangled and cut back when you repot with new potting mix and watered in with Seasol. You will have to cut down the crown of the tree to reduce transplant shock.Take photos to closest nursery or bunnings garden centre and get advice, do more research before you attempt anything.Im unsure if its too late in the year to attempt a repot If you decide to replace both trees you should use pots which are 400mm diameter plus, again throw this question at the nursery you go to.Good Luck

Once the plant re-establishes itself, don't forget to add some slow release citrus fertiliser.
