I may have a couple of seeds spare in a month or two, I am in New Zealand. Are you allowed to import them?. It is a sweet silky variety (montalban) about 200g each. Will take 5 to 8 years to bear. They do not do well in tropical or warmer subtropical conditions. in which case the canistel should be grown instead.

Attention Denise.....
Could you please advise if you may have a spare seed of Montalban or La Molina varieties. I think they are only available from New Zealand. Thanks.
Also on this subject, I just bought a seed of a different type of Lucuma which looks just the same as the more common one. But when you shake it you can hear the kernel rattling around inside? Do you think I should plant the whole thing as is, or crack open the outer shell to make it easier for the kernel to germinate? Don't want to mess it up as I only have one seed.
Also tried abrading the surface and when I put it in a glass of water it sank to the bottom immediately. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
