Macadamia fruiting on one limb only (forum)

We have a 4-5m high macadamia (not sure of age) that has nuts only on one branch (which is on the north side). Does anyone know if this is normal as the tree is maturing? Furthermore, the nuts are falling off while they still appear green, and seem rotten and soft inside.
Are there any recommendations?
Also, the tree is getting a little large. Should we prune it now, or wait until the end of winter?
Thanks!

nutting on one branch = prbly limb injured or perhaps cinctured by borer somewhere.
girdling a plant is a nearly sure fire way to promote flowering. this is especially effective on young jaboticabas to get early fruit

Thanks recher. There doesn't appear to be any injury or presence of borers. It would be strange if every raceme but one were damaged/eaten.
Still a mystery!
Thanks for the tip on girdling. We might try that sometime. (On our jaboticaba too!)
