mango borer? (forum)

gwen starts with ...
I have 2 mango trees with some holes in the trunk. I have found slater bugs in the holes, but I'm not sure what has made the holes to begin with. Have seen a large beetle once, but not sure if thats the culprit. Please help me save my mango trees !!
(Trunk is only about 5cm wide, hole is about 1cm wide.)

but use some coat hanger wire and
stick it down the hole to kill any
bug which may be in there.
