Hi there, does anyone know where I can get some Manila Mangoes in Brisbane or Redlands? I would love to germinate a seed to grow myself a tree.
Thanks all!

Methinks that the true name of the Philippine mango which you are seeking is Manilita mango .Maybe the sweetest tasting mango worldwide

Scott. The Manilita Mango is a redish mango when ripe. The most popular mango in Philippines (as I have discovered, and I have a small farm there with some 100 mango trees which I planted 10 years ago) is the Philippines Mango - also called Carabo Mango.A really yellow mango.Last year my trees there harvested some 15,000 fruit, and stopped counting.cheers

Do you sell any around Brisbane by any chance or know how I may be able to get my hands on a seed or seedling?

I have been hesitant to return from Philippines with a Cebu mango seed being aware of what happened a few years ago when a foreigner brought into Oz containers of mandarin plant stock, planted in Emerald Qld and decimated the local industry there. We must safeguard our relatively disease free agricultural country.Cheers

Fair call.
Was watching old episodes of food lovers guide to australia, an american couple, set up their own quarantine station in around cairns and brought in heaps of exotics legally.
The red tape is probably longer now, but still i am thankful for people with vision and means of doing it.
