The short answer is yes. I have been growing about 20 trees inarched on champaca over the acreage here for 30 or so years. Left unchecked they are upright growers with thick foliage. I'd estimate 2.2 ties as high as wide. Tho I have not done so nor seen one I bet they can be hedged as they do grow back freely from coppicing
