Moving a mature cumquat (forum)

This cumquat is 3 mt plus tall, in full fruit, I need to save it from a house demolition.
Can I prune any height off? Can I prune any from round the tree? And not affect its health? Will be using a bob cat to dig up.....as best we can, is the drip line adequate distance for most roots?
Any advice please. Thank you

I don't have any experiences in moving one off the ground but I know you can prune it quite hard, i.e. leave a leader and a few limbs. The only catch is, it will take at least a year to recover and maybe 2 to see fruit.
I've had a nagami that died back to the main trunk but with a bit of worm juice, recovered.

Thank you for this, makes me feel more confident.
I am driving into the town today to prune it.
A Beautiful, robust, tall, healthy 70 year old Norfolk Pine was.....'killed' yesterday in the backyard, I could not stay to do the cumquat.....was upsetting to see/hear the tree being destroyed.
Cheers
