Nashi pear pest (forum)

Sandy starts with ...
I noticed my Nashi pear tree leaves have been eaten/bitten. Upon closer examination, I found this bug as pictured on the leaf. Is this bug the culprit? What is it and how do I prevent my tree from being attacked again?
