New dwarf pruning? (forum)

Hi,
My new dwarf peach and apricot trees have woken up and seem to be doing well. The peach had a nice big flower but I removed that as per the guide that came with the plants.
I am wondering whether I should trim the growth off the main trunk of the peach tree to encourage growth up top or should I leave it for now and assess next winter?

I mean if you are planning to keep in a pot then I would leave it. If you are planting them in the ground then I would cut it off to encourage a three prong open canopy type growth. Either way it won’t hurt

Thanks. They are staying in the pots for now. Next winter I'll decide whether to transfer them to some larger (nicer) pots or make space for them in the ground.
