Keryn Simpson starts with ...
I have 2 Figs I brought here from Sydney they are open and about 5ft high and 15years old used to get fruit they were shadowed by trees growing around them and only fruited 2 times, last year trees were removed and cut back they get morning sun and light allday weekly watering they are protected from wind are mulched with horse and cow manure, composted guva and pecan leaves and given blood and bone and fish emulsionhow do I get to fruit again?THANKS..........

Gee, it sounds as though you are feeding them to death! Figs are from the Med. used to excellent drainage, hot dry summers and cold wet winters (but they do reasonably well in Briz with the reverse conditions). Less fert rather than more. If you can shift some of that fert it should help. Also if they haven't gone semi-dormant by now (Aug) then giving them a good hard prune might help. Keep them dry and as short of food as possible with the exception of some Potassium (potash, K) which should help to spur on fruiting. The sunnier and drier the position the more likely it is that you will get fruit in a year or two - some figs bear best every second year so don't expect a good crop each year. Dried figs are sensational and fresh figs are from heaven :-) - Elaine
