I see this has just popped up on the Daleys site. Massive fruit and a local brisbane selection. Does anyone have more info on the tree, ie the growth habit of the tree, size of tree and flower type? I'm in the market for another b.

Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery says...
Not great news but here it is:

We grafted about 30 as a trial back in February and not all have taken. We had some people give it to us as trial. The ones that were successful we will likely offer for sale sometime this year or early next year.

I would definitely put your email and sms down and act quick when you get notified but there will be only a handful of happy people and lots who miss out unfortunately.

Nobody can grow enough avocados this year including us sorry. It is our most asked question and nobody is happy with our answer as everybody wants them yesterday.

Are they all going to Pemberton, Western Australia?

I heard of a bloke putting another 70,000 trees in recently.

Linda sounds to be a very similar variety, there are 2 advanced sized ones at TFW right now.

Do you have any information about such things as cold tolerance, or whether they are type A or B, at this stage?

There's is a similar tree, Hazzard avocado, big fruit size up to 500g, high oil content 31%, it not commercial viable because it crooked neck/packing issue.
Anyone have one?
Can Daley nursery produce this?

Thanks

I have been chasing one of these for years now. Does anyone know where they came from, it was supposed to be someone in Brisbane but everyone I talk to in the know has never heard of it. Is there anyone who got a plant from the first production run willing to part with some scions?

Doug says...
I would guess that in addition to the grafting problems, there were other issues and the variety is no more. Remember that avo trees look fine one day and are dead the next (usually a drainage problem).
