You could grow a dwarf variety as normal ones can get too tall for indoors. They can get a few fruits in containers but a container of about 80 liters or more will give a reasonable amount of fruit. Looking at the climate records for Lake Tyers Beach, you should be able to grow it outdoors. Especially so if it is in a half barrel or in the ground against the sunny end of the house. If by experience they get rotten roots in winter in your town, you can graft one onto a mountain pawpaw or babaco whose roots are almost invincible.

Daleys have some cutting grown papaya plants that will fruit quick and small. Some lines will have plants that may be either male or female. You need to have one that is bisexual or have a male and female plant. If you only have room for one plant it has to be bisexual (hermaphrodite). Type pawpaw in the plant search option, and the plants need to be ordered in advance to avoid missing out.
