Papple fruit tree (forum)

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has heard of a fruit tree called a papple? I am buying the fruit from a supplier, who buy the fruit from the Sydney markets. They are delicious and I would love a tree. I have been told they are a cross between an apple and a pear and bred in NZ in 1996.

They are in effect, an Asian pear that has a peel that you would call apple. I am not sure of its parentage
