I was wondering if it's possible to grow Pawpaws in a pot, and which varieties would be most successful. I live in Brisbane. Thanks!

Yes Pawpaws grow well in large pots as they don't have a huge root system. I have 8 growing in large grow bags and are producing fruit all year (Perth).

Thanks Wampa. Another question - where did you buy the bags? I bought bags from Richgro in Jandakot years ago, but not sure if you can still do that. You have to spend a fair bit, as it's not really a retail outlet.
PS What proportion of the plants are male?

I bought the bags from Jaylon in Malaga, they were quite reasonably priced from memory. I have 2 males, 4 females and 2 bisexual as they were grown from seed it was luck of the draw. I think you will enjoy growing them Julie as they are so easy and rewarding.

And fast! Fast is good! I haven't grown them up till now because our nights are so cold in the hills. But if I can protect them in winter and move outside in summer they should be OK.
