melody starts with ...
our friends have a plum tree that the leaves are all curled up like leave curl but the leaves are all covered in hundreds of theses spore like tentacles all over the tree growing out of the underside of the leaves, the tentacles are creamy green color and almost look like little inch worms but they are not alive at all they are just there and the leaves are still all green aswell the hang down about n inch to two inches off the leaves, the plum are red in color and do not have theses tentacles on them. is this a type of plum tree or is there something wrong with the tree ??

yes creepy have you ever seen anything like this before ?? I will go tomorrow and take pictures of it, i grew up around fruit orchards and never have i ever seen anything like this, they say nothing is wrong with it said the neighbours looks the same way but i still think its got some sort of problem with it

Here is a pic of fasciation on a mulla mulla plant in my orchard - on the left is the normal leaf.
I don't know much more about it though.

i would agree with above, a gall they appear to be made out of leaf tissue. Something is makeing the leaf grow those so it can have a home. I am not sure if its insect, mite or rust fungus doing it. I found simlar images on the internet from other places, using words' "plum, leaf, gall" . my guess is insect, if you cut them open i would love to hear a verdict.

Hi melody - is there an agriculture dept near u? if u email the photos they may be able to help...I think we would all love to know what it is now..!? I can try our pest and disease service also - it may take awhile though.
