I have just planted one from runners given by a friend. I hope it is ok. It looks very much like wild blackberry you see on a roadside so I think they produce long canes along wires as you said.

anonymous- tran.
are you aware that you should only cut canes back after they have fruited.
i dont think you can seperate your three canes because they should all be growing out of the same root.
i have several different types of brambleberries and what i have seen is that when the growing tip at the end of any canes touches the ground it wants to burrow in and then forms roots. i would think that this would then be a new plant and once astablished could be cut off from the original plant.
if you wanted to have a plant in another location you could get long rectangular containers full of ordinary dirt and place at the end of any canes and train the tip into the dirt at one end. keep moist and once established cut it away from the plant and relocate.
hope this helps.
