Hi ,
I just bought lots of the red wood chips to use for my landscaping project. A friend just told me that wood chips are soaked in a red colour dye and is potentially toxic. Is there any thruth to this and if so why are the major garden centres selling it in the first place without any warnings?

Surely dye isn't as toxic as the arsenic etc used commonly to preserve outdoor timbers such as sleepers etc.
