Rough Skinned Seville Orange (forum)

I live on the Sunshine Coast Qld, and want to find a rough-skinned Seville Orange for making marmalade/cooking etc. I can buy the smooth skinned from local nurseries but want the bumpy/rough skinned variety. Does anyone know where I can buy such a tree?

There are a number of threads on this particular orange if you do a "Search the Forum" at the top right of the page. Many of us were lucky to receive viable seeds from a generous forum member in the past few months. Established trees can be harder to track down, but by now some of us should have seedlings to spare.

Hi Monica, I have a spare seedling (20cm high) if you would like one - however it might be a bit far for you to pick up.

Hi James,
Diggers estimates they will have them available 1st September.
https://www.diggers.com.au/shop/fruit/citrus-trees/rough-seville-orange/wcitse/
Diggers reputation varies depending on who you speak to. I personally haven't dealt with them because of the few things I would have been interested in, I would have had to pay a membership fee to get, so I just went without or found it somewhere else.
Currently their price is $24.95 for non-members and will be supplied in what they are calling a 'tree pot', which is what Daleys call a 'mega-tube' and advertise as size: 'medium'.

Hi everyone, I'm Adrian and live in Adelaide, I have a rough skinned Seville which fruited in 2017, I saved some seeds and planted them and now have about a dozen seedlings which will produce identical rough skinned seville oranges at around 5 yrs of age, I usually graft budwood onto rootstock to reduce waiting time for fruit, please see attatched photos.

Hi Adrian,
I am interested in your seedlings. Please let me know if you are willing to part with one or two (one for my mother-in-law). I am in Melbourne if you are willing to let them go and fiddle with boxing them up. Am willing to pay for them.
Thanks,
Bev

Hello Jakfruit.
Would very much appreciate if you could send some Rough Skin seeds to: Phillip Quayle,25 Fisher Rd. Peachester Qld 4519. I don't know best packaging method : touch of fungicide, wet blotting paper or cotton wool ?? Your guess probably better than mine. Could we pay the postage by money order ?
Cheers Phillip Quayle
