Hi Someone gave me saffron seed. I planted & i got yellow flower. Does it is saffron.

The flower is generally purple/mauve in colour. I would double check the species you have as they might not all be edible.

I believe the flower of true saffron has to be the same as that one illustrated,
& nothing else will do! Having said that I am trying to locate some corms to plant this coming spring! Of course being in WA has made this a challenge so I would really appreciate any help!

saffron is summer dormant.
they start about mar/apr and die off about oct/nov.
