Hello All,
I planted a chestnut seed about 6 months ago, at the end of winter & seems to have made a little flower, is that the norm for young chestnuts ?

Congratulations - I have chestnut trees twenty years old that haven't flowered. I've never seen anything like that. Must be global warming.

My chestnut flowered and fruited after three years in the ground but nuts did not form properly as I need a pollinator- you will too...and they grow into big trees so need space.

I wonder if this is the reason, as I have always had flowers on really young seedlings which is a problem because it weakens them so much, putting out flowers so early. I regularly go out and inspect my plants leaves & stems multiple times per day & celebrate every millimeter of progress. This might be the reason - immune response: https://amp.smh.com.au/national/plants-hate-green-thumbs-science-backs-hands-off-gardening-approach-20181215-p50mgl.html
