Sick plants (forum)

hi everyone, I'm from the Newcastle region, this was my first foray into trying to grow/establish some fruit trees etc, I've had some sick plants for a while now and just wondering if some of them are beyond help.
Long story, I decided to try to start establishing some plants before winter to take with us when we move, so all are in bonsai bags.
I started with blueberries and initially ordered 3 from another company at the Gold Coast (flooding at the time), I then discovered Daleys, I received my blueberries from Daleys, all in great condition but when I received the other order the plants looked to be suffering from a leaf issue.
They ended up losing all their leaves.

With all the rain throughout winter it hasn't been ideal I guess and I did drop the ball at one stage with regular checks due to health issues with a family member.

I used a mix of coco coir and pine bark mulch, it wasn't until I was driving out of the landscape place I noticed the scoop I got was from the very bottom of the dregs left over so I go lots of dirt/rocks etc so I'm not sure if this may of been contaminated to some extent.

Even my Panama Berry's are looking ordinary with dead leaves and the chilli's (potting mix) I've lost one, they've both had leaf curl though.

The cumpquats, peach and one lemon seem to be ok.
Has this just been a shocking time rain wise or should I start afresh ?

The coir and pine bark should be ok, but any soil and gravel wouldn't help. Blueberries like lower pH.
Soil and some gravels could throw that out. Also soil could block the pore space in the coir/bark mix, how is the mix draining ?? Could be water logging problems.
Soil is usually avoided in pot mix as root diseases can be present. If they are loading bark straight onto bays that have had other stuff before, doesn't sound great.
For blueberries you may be better with a pot mix for Azaleas or Acid loving plants, or test the pH of your mix.
There are also Azalea type fertilisers that might help acid loving plants. Please do some research on growing Blueberries in pots.

Cheers for that, when I saw what I ended up with I did try and wash it down as much as possible to get any dirt/clay out of it .
I figured the rounded rocks wouldn't hurt too much but probably aid in drainage.
I did add osmocotes roase/azalia slow release and then mulched with sugar cane mulch.
Through the rainy periods I did try to protect the blueberries under an eave that see's mid morning/afternoon sun and at the first sign of rust scale I sprayed with a copper solution.
I am just unsure if the plants that lost their leaves and the ones with the really bad rust spot will recover, they've continued to flower throughout.
I've just given them a b'day, cleared the old mulch, a drink of thrive and added the slow release and mulch again.

Panama berry and chillies like warm temperatures, so they will look more miserable in winter in the Newcastle area depending on what minimum temperatures you get where you live. Chilly plants can die off unless protected by nearby trees.
Blueberry bushes may also lose leaves in winter depending on the variety but they will get a new flush in Spring.
