Stone fruit Pest - Carpophilus beetle? (forum)

Hi we have had this years crop of nectarines completely wiped out by this beetle/bug (I think its the carpophilus beetle)
research suggests this is highly problematic to deal with. can any one recomend a solution to ensure next year is not a repeat of this season's disappointment?
