The DIESEL Tree! (forum)

I have just read about the Diesel tree that when fully grown produces 40 ltrs of bio diesel per year which equates to 12000 ltres per planted acre!
A forward thinking Aussie farmer imported seedlings from Brazil & has already sold 20,000 of them to other farmers. A great article, but nowhere does it reveal the true identity of the tree. DOES ANYONE KNOW IT OR CAN HAZARD A GUESS? ( it looks a bit like a rubber tree, but it isnt!

the tree wouldnt be producing ltrs.
of biodiesel but ltrs of plant oils
that are then converted to biodiesel.
palm oil being one such tree.

s.g. is there a picture available.

you can make a much better product than normal biodiesel by mixing vege. oil
and normal diesel together.

coconut oil is put straight into tanks of Landrovers after filtering in Bouganville , even in tropical cairns this oil goes a bit solid in winter .. Much used in the Philippines , there its called cocodiesel ... must start getting a press & other equiptmnt needed to make my own , so many nuts go to waste up here . So instead of paying @100 to fill your tank spend a few hours husking and splitting coconuts .
btw I know a few growers of the diesel tree up here , but not seen the tree yet .
google search easily found name ....
Copaifera langsdorffii is a tropical tree though

Tha article is in one of the OUTBACK magazines sitting in a waiting room. Sorry I dont remember the edition date, but its cover had a guy (wearing an akubra)holding up a large picture frame in front so he looked like a photo!
Thanks trikus, they drive a pipe into the heartwood & bung it. The fuel is then supposed to run out like oil out of a tank, but it is a seasonal yield.

We could be looking at farmers in the tropics never having to leave home or at least running all their tractors, & machinery on diesel tree yield in the future!
