I was of the understanding achacha trees could handle wet feet, but I lost a couple of mine to what I think was root rot from wet feet.
Has anyone had this problem with achacha?

Hi Scott, couple more plants tolerating occassional wet feet are Rollinia and Jaboticaba. Black Sapote like a lot of water too, but I'm unsure about prolonged wet feet. Don't know about Achacha - I lost a couple of seedlings from kids over-watering them.

Brahmi will grow in water so it shouldn't mind wet feet. It doesn't have fruit though, you just eat the leaves like a herb.

In a wet spot i often see gotu kola and brahmi, they seem to be native up here
or just plain old taro.

Asiminas grow in their natural habitat in boggy wet ground like river beds and can stand continuous wet feet. However they might not grow in the tropics as I think they need some cold.

May I suggest that you try Salaks.

I'm sure I read somewhere that salaks like to grow in wet ground. I'm growing some in pots in a very wet mix and the more water I give them the more they seem to like it. Cheers.

Too many Salaks - Free to good home!

Wasn't expecting them ALL to grow. Now I have too many and don't know what to do with them all. Appreciate any offers to take some, you can have as many as you like, thanks.

I'd love one or two Linton! Unfortunately none of the twenty odd ones I grew from Malaysia last year survived... I'll have plenty of tropical fruit seeds soon to trade, stuff like gac, jackfruit, sapodilla, star apple and hopefully durian! :)

Hi Nick

You are most welcome to some salak seedlngs. Please email your contact details so we can arange:

I think it is probably too hot and dry where I live for them to grow, but they're worth a try. How are your Star Apples growing? I've never been able to get them to survive in Melbourne.

Anyone grow Bael fruit (Aegle marmelos)?

They're supposed to tolerate waterlogging.

Has someone had first hand experience?
