Jackie French could well be called a National Living Treasure. If she doesn't know the answer she'll find out for you. Further, not only is her size irrelevant but that info is old, she has lost a lot of weight since and looks great.

If you have small kids to read to, the diary of a wombat book is a hoot. One of those perfect children's books- simple, funny, easy to read, rings true, not too long, and about Australian wildlife. You can tell that she has raised orphaned wombats.
She has good books about chook raising, gardening and food too. They are cold-climate focussed of course, as she lives in rural Victoria.

Diana.

Jackie is one of my heroes, and has been ever since I discovered her book THE A-Z OF USEFUL PLANTS. I treasure that book!
She has a fantastic sense of humour, she is a gardening and cooking wizard, she loves kids and animals, she has a terrific personality and she writes great books.
An almost comlete list of her books can be found here

Jackie French is one of my favorites too. I have read many of her books over and over and never tire of them.......I loved "Seasons of Content" which is a journal, about a year in the Araluen Valley, where she lives.
