Young Passion fruit Vine (forum)

Hi, I have a young non grafted black passionfruit vine which has done well this year and grown this big. It hasn't started fruiting yet. Do I need to prune this vine to encourage pruning? And when should I do it? It has lots of shoots crawling all over.
Also, do you protect passionfruit against possums? We have them visiting.
