I like these fruits because they are so easy to grow and don't get fruit fly. The fruit is better/moister if the tree is watered well when fruiting. Tastes like turkish delight. The new growth is quite red so it looks good in the garden also.

We used to have this in the backyard. That recipe for the dip is , mix 1/4 cup soy sauce, add 2 tbs sugar and 2 tbs sweet chili sauce, great dip for a chopped up rose apple or jambu.

I planted two of these some years ago... possibly 6 years ago. They prefer frost free, which isn't this place, but have survived even the black frost. I honestly cannot remember whether they were grafted or not... I think not... I bought them from Dale...

There is an Asian recipe for the use of Rose Apples. Some of the ingredients are chilli, sugar, soya sauce. I don't know how it is cooked. It is used as a dip.

It's true - this was already in our garden when we bought it - the flowers are lovely, the fruits genuinely smell like rose petals (and taste delicate) and it's very hardy but extremely attractive native (big dark leaves). Kids even ate fruit this avo!
