I bought this plant to help with pollination of my other Garcinia's. But I also enjoy the the fruits. I've managed to get the seedlings up a bit more since I bought it from you and I have them in the open exposing them to Brisbane winters.

Five year old seedlings(2 years inground). Protected in winter with green house cover. Purple mangosteens apparently don't like being too close to the sea! I'm 300 meters away and both seem to be responding well and growing just as fast as the achachas...

Try growing them hydroponically in rockwool cubes w/acidic nutrient solution for first 10 months, with both foliar and root applications. Use excellent nutrients and avoid deficiencies. Frequent rooting gel apps every 10 days (place gel on lower stem).

Mangosteen Purple
Is not pollinated, fruit and seeds are always clones of the parent. Ultra-tropical, killed at 4C. To grow properly it needs year-round hot, steamy weather. Not worth trying south of Mackay QLD. The best fruit in the world!
