A semi-dwarf tree making it ideal for backyards, it produces elongated fruits with a very small seed. Flesh is sweet, succulent, fibreless and aromatic with a slight tang. The fruits start out with green skin and ripen to yellow with pink-red blushed fruit. Compact, branching, slightly upright tree growing to 3-4m tall and 2-3m wide. Shows good resistance to anthracnose and black spot. The fruit of a clone of King Thai mango are sold commercially as Maha Bliss in Australian Markets.

Very attractive slow growing tree, with dark green leathery leaves. Native to wet forests of Central America.Oval shaped fruits are produced in summer reaching up to 2cm. The white pulp has a pleasant subacid aromatic flavour, with a similar flavour to the Achacha.Very ornamental making an excellent display potted plant. While the tree may not produce fruit in colder regions, the leaves are quite cold hardy and can tolerate winter conditions. May require protection from frosts when young. Jakfruit is a handsome evergreen tree, reaching a height of 8-15 metres and bearing the worlds largest fruit. Fruits can weigh up to 20kg. Strong scent to fruit skin, but it is deliciously sweet, with tropical flavours of banana and mango. It can be eaten fresh or dried. Very quick growing and usually starts fruiting in 4th year. A perfect start to a Food Forest in subtropical and even protected warm temperate regions, especially in spring and summer. Cincturing can help earlier fruiting.There is an old Sri Lankan proverb that says, with Jakfruit and coconut in your backyard you will never starve. This is because every part of the Jakfruit tree is useful. Unripe Jakfruit can be cooked with chicken, fish and eggs, and ripe ones can be eaten as is, or processed into drinks, jam, jelly or candy. The same applies to other parts of the tree such as the skin, leaves, flowers, wood and latex which have their own uses and benefits.

Grew well in Autumn. Extensive frost damage in winter. All new buds are dead. Hoping for a revival in spring. Died at the end of summer
